Dr. Renata Ivanek is an Associate Professor of Epidemiology in the Department of Population Medicine and Diagnostic Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine. The overarching goal of her research is to advance One Health -- the interconnected health of people, animals, plants and their shared environment. Her computer lab develops new and sustainable data- and model-driven approaches for improving food safety, controlling infectious diseases, and optimizing food production systems. Most recent research projects in Dr, Ivanek’s lab include development of decision support tools to reduce food waste and improve food safety, mitigate COVID-19 in the food industry as well as to improve understanding of the determinants of antibiotic use and resistance in animal agriculture.
