Dr. Sarah Sweet is a 2004 graduate of the Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine and a 1984 graduate of Colgate University. Dr. Sweet is the Medical Affairs Specialist for the renal and cardiology franchises at IDEXX Laboratories in Westbrook, ME. Prior to her current role, Dr. Sweet was the Medical Affairs Specialist for the intestinal parasitology and pancreatic lipase franchises at IDEXX. She has presented at various national and international veterinary conferences including the ACVIM Forum, VMX, and the Western Veterinary Conference (now the Viticus Group). Prior to joining IDEXX, Dr. Sweet was the Senior Professional Services Veterinarian for Merck Animal Health, responsible for the Northeast Region. She is a former practice owner and second career veterinarian, pursuing her DVM after leaving a successful 12 year career in the financial industry in Boston and New York. She is the author or co-author on several veterinary publications, and regularly provides continuing education locally and nationally. She is a past president of the Maine Veterinary Medical Association and was selected as the AVMA's Emerging Leader representing Maine in 2011. Dr. Sweet is an avid equestrian, skier and outdoorsperson. She resides in Maine with her husband, 2 Labrador retrievers, 2 cats and her thoroughbred gelding, Mr. Baker.
