Chair Professor Julia Beatty BSc(hons) BVetMed PhD FANZCVS GradCertEd MRCVS GACID Professor Beatty has successfully combined clinical veterinary medicine with cutting-edge research to advance the health and welfare of animals, particularly in cancer virology and immunodeficiency. She has co-authored > 100 peer-reviewed publications (http://orcid.org/0000-0001-6520-7801) associated with a GS h-index of 31. Recently, she drove international collaborations that discovered novel candidate cancer-causing viruses in cats, raising the prospect of cancer prevention by vaccination in companion animals. Jules is a Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons-recognized specialist in Feline Medicine, a Fellow of the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors. In 2004, she relocated from the University of Glasgow to the University of Sydney (QS global ranking 9th, Vet Science) where she served from 2004-2019 in leadership roles including Head of Small Animal Medicine, Director of the Veterinary Teaching Hospital and Associate Dean of Clinical Sciences. In 2019, she moved to City University, Hong Kong to establish the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences (VCS) in Hong Kong s first veterinary school.
