Associate Professor, Nutrition, Director NCSU CVM Nutrition Program Section Chief, Health & Wellness Center College of Veterinary Medicine, North Carolina State University, 1060 William Moore Drive, Raleigh, NC 27607 The general focus of my research work involves nutritional intervention for disease states driven by oxidative stress. More specifically, the relationship between oxidants, anti-oxidants, immunity, and nutrient metabolism in response to disease stressors common to both humans and animals. This includes tissue loss conditions associated with disease and aging. Developing appropriate animal models to investigate the mechanisms by which nutrients alter various aspects of the immune system allows for comparative, translational research that benefits both humans and our veterinary patients.
